Audiologist

This past Wednesday we headed over to the old Children's Hospital to have Finley's hearing tested.  Her appointment was at 745am and we barely made it in time.  We had forgotten what rush hour traffic was like at 7am in Calgary!

We were told that the appointment would take about an hour but we were done in about 30 minutes.  Why not as long you ask?  Because Finley's hearing is 100% perfect!  I wasn't too surprised when I heard this as I was pretty sure that her speech delay wasn't due to lack of hearing.

This makes her actually the only kid in her class without hearing impairment.  When I was chatting with a few of the mom's Wednesday afternoon, they asked if Finley ever mentioned the hearing aids as they are all fairly visible.  I was happy to say that Finley has never questioned nor made any reference as to why the other kids have hearing aids. Now, to be honest even if Finley did notice the hearing aids I don't know if she would be able to communicate that with me.  The other mom's were happy that Finley made no notice to the hearing aids.  And on Friday when we got to school, one of her bff's ears were hurting from the hearing aids so they were doing some tests and Finley asked what was wrong with J. and I explained that her hearing aids were bothering her and she can't hear very well at the moment.  Finley then ran on so I am thinking she had no idea what I was saying and soon ran off to see her other friends as they arrived.

Yay for no hearing problems for Finley.  Finally one developmental test we passed with flying colours!
