Odds + Ends

  • I went to NKOTBSB last night with my good friend Jenn.  We had the most crazy thing happen to us.  We had just sat down in our seats when 2 girls came up to us and asked if it was just us in our group.  We said yes and they were like do you want to sit on the floor, we have 2 extra seats.  We were like sure.  We ended up moving from Section 219 to the 2nd row on the floor on the north side.  At times they were the best seats ever and at other times, they really sucked.  They had the regular stage and a catwalk leading to a smaller rounder stage which is where were at.  The concert was amazing and I am so glad that they came to Calgary and that agreed to change our vacation around so that I could go!!!
  • Opening for NKOTBSB was Neverest which is a Canadian band.  I have liked their first 2 singles and was surprised to see that they were managed by Howie D (from BSB in case you didn't know who he is) and he actually introduced them.
  • Also opening for NKOTBSB was Matthew Morrison aka Will Schuster from Glee.  He was pretty good and man get the dude move.  His dancing was ridiculously amazing.  The only thing I didn't like was his cover of Golddigger.  It was just weird seeing him sing + dance to it.  I am looking forward to hearing his album because his original work was pretty good and he played the ukelele and that is just too cool.
  • I had done some collages of photos from the concert but they didn't work and I was too lazy to do it again so if you want to see them head over to my Facebook page to take a look.  There are some good ones that I got!
  • While at the stampede yesterday, I bought Finley + I matching aprons.  I was only going to buy one for me but because it was kids day at the grounds, it was $5 off, so I bought it.  I was so happy to find a hot apron that didn't go to my ankles.  I will model it for you when I get back from my vacation.
  • We leave for a 16 day mostly camping vacation tomorrow.  Part of me is looking forward to it but part of me is worried.  It is the longest vacation that we have ever taken with Finley let alone both kids.  We are heading into Yellowstone, the Black Hills + Mount Rushmore and a bunch of other places that I can't remember.  I am most excited about finding cheaper TOMS, Targets, IHOP, Sonic + seeing the state capital building in Montana.  I am also excited about getting more stamps in my US National Park Passport.  We are camping for most of it and doing some hoteling too.
  • I spent much of the day today cleaning, doing laundry, packing, cleaning and a million other things that are on my to do list.  I still have tonnes to do but I am taking a break while working on my blog and watching the second episode of The Kennedy's.  It is very interesting so far and I am starting to see why Caroline Kennedy and other Kennedy relatives had this blocked in the US.   I don't like Katie Holmes as Jackie either.  I think I am choosing to believe that this miniseries is very much exaggerated.
  • I got my bridesmaid dress back after being altered and it fits fabulously.  I am so excited for Kristen's wedding and to wear it.  A lady a block away from me did it since I forgot to bring it to Saskatoon with me and get Greg's grandma to do it.  She only charged me $50 bucks which was great considering some were wanting to charge me $50 an hour which worried me since I only paid $140 US for it.
  • I tried Finley's flower girl dress on her and it fits perfectly.  Almost too perfectly.  The length will be fine but I am worried that if she grows too much more that it won't pull over her head or we won't be able to do the buttons up.  We just might end up buying a 2nd flower girl dress on September 1st.  Thankfully this one was only $50 but it is just so darn cute that I really really hope it fits still!!
  • I packed the 4th book in the Twilight series in my travel bag in hopes of finishing it while on vacation.  I started reading the series almost 14 months ago so I am really hoping to finish.  My sister wants to re-read it before the movie comes out in November so I have set myself a deadline of Thanksgiving to finish it.
Hope you all have a good couple of weeks and I will see you all in August!

Happy Summer!
