About a month ago Greg called me and asked that if we weren't doing anything on the 14th of May, could he + Brad take a rock climbing course in Kannanaskis? Apparently there was some kind of groupon for it. I was just happy he was making use of the Christmas presents I got him in 2009. So I said, go ahead we have no plans.
It turns out that I've had a pretty crappy week and would've loved to have him home to help out today but he's gone and I must persevere.
It all started on Monday when I fried the charging circuit on my macbook. I went to charge it as it was almost out of juice and when I plugged it in, smoke was coming from my macbook. I took it in to the Apple store at Chinook Center and after some investigation it was indeed the charging circuit. Unfortunately, they had in stock so I would have to wait to get it back. He said that it would take 3 - 5 business days to get the part in and another 3 - 5 business days to get it installed. However, I got an email late last night that it was ready to be picked up so I am heading to Chinook with the kids shortly. I will be there as soon as it opens and be out right after. It is way too busy to be in that mall by myself with 2 kids!!
Also on Tuesday, I decided to try on dresses at Forever 21 since it had literally been years since I had bought new summer clothes. What a mistake that turned out to be. Despite the fact that I have lost ALL the weight I gained while pregnant with Penelope, all the muscle I used to have has turned to fat and I seriously looked pregnant in all 12 dresses I tried on. I was so depressed. So because of that, I have spent the last few days eating really well although I did have a slurpee last night after a long bike ride which is making it really difficult to sit right now. I have found a really cool exercise program on Pinterest** that I will show you soon! Really, I just need to do like a 1000 crunches a day for like ever and I should be good to go :-)
On Wednesday, Finley was sent upstairs to get clean panties because she had a bit of an accident. We all know what happened. She had quite the experience with diaper cream. She has not gone near it since. She ruined the dress she was wearing, partially ruined the one I was wearing and I even got a tiny amount on the brand new uggs I was wearing (I got them for xmas but didn't bring em out till all the snow + mud went away and wore old ones instead). I was not happy about this. Her hair has been washed 8x since then and it's still smells like diaper cream and is kinda icky to touch. At least it doesn't look greasy!
On Friday, I broke both zippers on Penelope's grobags. Both split and I have no idea how to fix them. It was taking forever for her to nap and when I went to get her yesterday afternoon, she had poop on her shirt, all over the sheets, her blanket and her face. It was not pleasant but wasn't nearly as bad as Finley'w poop experience when they were similar ages. Finley had poop caked to the side of her head. It was gross.
Friday night I went to check on FInley before I went to bed and 3 of 4 walls were missing their chair railing which was laying in a nice pile in the middle of her room on the floor. I couldn't believe it. Remarkably, there was no major damage to the walls or the chair rails. To date, she has ripped off the chair rails, ripped out the curtain rod from the wall and broken the fronts of 2 drawers in her dresser. I am debating whether to get Greg to fix them or just wait until she is 5 to do it. I think I will get him to fix it as it looks so trashy in her room!
Saturday has so far started out good. I was up around 6am so I took advantage of this time and watched the season finale of Blue Bloods - which was pretty darn good. I made french toast for breakfast and now I am going to get the kids dressed so I can run to Safeway for a few items and then off to Chinook for my macbook. Now I can finally download the new Lonely Island album!! We're barbequeing burgers for supper and I am excited to try out the burger recipe in the Deceptively Delicious cookbook. I will post it if it turns out.
Happy Saturday everybody!!
Yes, sounds like quite the week. Here's hoping to a good weekend! Treat yourself to Starbucks.....that makes everything okay momentarily, right? Yes, do post on those burgers!
ReplyDeleteHope your Saturday is going okay. I'm not sure I understand what you said about the zippers. If it is just that they don't zip when the slide moves, try gently sqeezing them with a pliers. Gail
