A few months back we wanted to buy a outdoor playhouse for the kids. The problem was that most were overly expensive and the cheap ones, well they were cheap for a reason. I looked daily on kijiji but they all seemed to sell as quickly as they went up. Greg said just to wait for the one we wanted to go on sale at Canadian Tire. I decided to look on Craigslist which I almost never do but boy am I glad we did. Someone had this playhouse on there for $200 but it had been on for a few weeks. I figured one of two things was gonna happen: it was sold but ad hadn't been removed or I could get it for even cheaper. I emailed her and offered $150 and she came back with $160. I emailed it to Greg and he googled it and saw on the Little Tikes website it was selling for $399 USD so it was a deal. We picked it up that night and were finally able to put it together yesterday afternoon.
Greg and Finley were out on Saturday putting it together but it got chilly so Finley came inside and Greg finished it. It was missing all of the stickers so I went to the Little Tikes website where I was able to order all brand new stickers for like $12. It looked awesome with the stickers.
Thankfully today was absolutely beautiful outside so we spent much of it outdoors. On one side of the house is a gas station. This is Finley filling up her coupe.
One another side is the basketball hoop and soccer net. We're gonna bring her other hoop + net out so we can actually play "games". It should be a lot of fun.
This is the cafe.
The sign that advertises the specials of the day says "no boys allowed" thanks to daddy.
This is the entrance to her house. It has a mail slot and a address.
We moved the swing set back and moved the playhouse to the other side. It came apart slightly when we moved it because Greg didn't put in all the screws. Yes that is still snow in our backyard. Thank you, Mother Nature.
The playhouse then opens up so it's like a little street. Finley prefers it closed. Mostly so Greg and I stay out of it.
The inside of the gas station is like a place for tools. We're going to get some hooks and hang her outdoor gardening tools in there.
Inside the cafe side is a fridge, sink and windows
Inside of it
More cupboards, stove and more houselike stuff.
This is by far one of the coolest things Finley has. I never had anything like this when I was a kid. I can't wait until Penelope gets a little older and they can play with it together. Or fight over it.
What a great way to enjoy the first of many beautiful days to come!
