Finally A Nice Day....

The spring has been cruel to us Calgarians.  Mother Nature would tease us - melt all of our snow, encourage us to bring out the flip flops, wash our cars and then dump on us.  This happened 3 times in 3 weeks.  We were depressed.  It sucked.  Finally though, I think Mother Nature is done being angry with us and has given us a few days at least of beautiful, warm weather (at least that is what the forecast calls for).  We took advantage of it on Sunday

Finley brought out her mower for the first cut of the season.  Yes that is still snow.

Greg checking the compost.  The soil wasn't as great as last spring so we figure another year and it will be fabulous soil.  I wish I had taken a photo of our soil last year.  It was as beautiful as soil could be.

Finley cruising around the backyard.  Not too happy about the pile of snow.  She freaked when her basketball hit it.

Finley going down the slide one of 4 million times today

Our RIDER garden gnome survived the winter.  We forgot to take it inside.  We used to watch the snow fall and see out gnome slowly suffocate.  At one point all we would see is the top of his head.

Finley filling up her coupe.

She has graduated to the big girl swing.  So proud of her but yet so sad at the same time..

Greg checking out the garden.  We were going to buy the rototillar at Costco on Sunday but the soil was still so wet that all it would do is break it up and then it would get hard again when it dried up.  It's a pretty good deal on one if you are interested.  We are expanding our garden again this year, most likely for the final time.  It will be 20ft by 20ft.  We are looking for a way to fence it off and make it look nice so that the kids will stay out of it.  We were going to do cedar boxes with vegetables in them but we decided we don't like them.  I am sure a trip to Lowes or Home Depot will help us out in this area.  I was going to clean out our perennial garden that is on the other side of the garden but I couldn't find my gardening gloves.  I will buy some this week and get that done.

Finley playing basketball.  She will jump grab onto the hoop, pull it down and then throw the ball in.  We definitely don't have the next Lisa Leslie in this family....

All in all, it was a great day to be outside and enjoy the sunshine.  If you were wondering where Penelope was, she was napping inside.
