Am I driving y'all crazy yet? Hahahaha
Finley has had a fantastic few days. She has had only once accident since Thursday. And we were gone from home a lot of the time!
Thursday was a complete disaster. I hate to admit it, but my patience and frustration got the best of me at times that day. I was so done with potty training but thankfully we all bounced back on Friday.
We spent 4 hours at Frunkl Jack's place on Friday night where she "used" the potty 8x with probably 4 actual pees. No accidents. I think she just likes unrolling toilet paper.
On Saturday night, we went out for supper and some quick shopping with no incidents. Finley asked to use the potty twice and actually went once.
On Sunday, she had a accident in the morning but then we went shopping with my sister at Chinook mall where she asked to go potty twice. The first time Greg took her but she fell in the toilet and lost her focus. She went again about 10 minutes later and had a long pee. She was thrilled. We first went to the family bathroom but people were waiting and there were people waiting for the women's washroom so I admit it, I used the handicap bathroom. Nobody was in it and I didn't want an accident because I had forgotten to bring spare pants. Thankfully nobody was waiting to use it as we left. Greg said that was not right but as a potty training mom, I didn't care.
Later that day, we drove Aunty Kristy to the airport and then went to Grandpa Don + Grandma Jen's place for supper. I will admit, putting her in pull ups crossed my mind since they have recently renovated with nice new, expensive couches and persian rugs. My biggest fear was her peeing on them. Could you imagine? I would've died!! Thankfully, she asked 5x and peed 3 of those times. Success!!
I am very happy with the amount of success we have had on the potty. I am still (VERY) concerned about the road trip back to Saskatoon at Easter (unless Flames make the playoffs) and how she will do. We're still miles away from night time success as her pull up is still soaked and when I did put her in panties, she woke up crying and that I cannot deal with. That will come with time.....
Here are some ideas I have heard for road trips.
ReplyDelete1. bring a potty in the car
2. get a car seat protector - we bought ours at echildren
3. we also bought a fold up potty seat for in public to avoid 'fall ins', Grady loves it!
From one potty training mama to another.... Good Luck!
Thanks Christy! I had heard about the car seat protectors but wasn't sure where to buy them. I will check out e-children this week.
ReplyDeleteWe have a fold up potty seat which usually works fine. I think it was more of a greg issue than a potty issue.
Thanks for the tips and good luck with Grady too!!
