Well I woke up Monday morning with a migraine and ended up being sick until Tuesday night. This is when being a stay at home mom is much harder then a going to work dad. I don't get sick days. I have to persevere and look after my kids despite the fact that I would rather curl up and die. I am not even kidding. Thankfully, I am feeling 100% better and am finally getting things caught up here at home.
Yesterday, I went and got some groceries, took Finley to gymnastics and bought some craft supplies. I have so many crafty ideas going on in my head - I can't wait to put them to work. Although, truth be told, my imagination is far better then my ability to actually realize them. It ends up becoming one of Greg's things on his never ending "Honey Do" list or it just never happens. However, this time I have faith in myself. Some of course will require Greg's assistance mostly because I am not allowed to put holes in our walls. This idea that I am referring to has been run by both Greg and Kristen - both of who think it's a fabulous idea. My other project on the go utilizes my soup cans that usually just recycled. I saw on a blog a fun craft that will become educational toys for Finley and Penelope. I have 5 cans - only tonnes more to go!!! I promise to post photos of my projects once they are completed.
The decrapifying of Casa Florizone was halted temporarily due to the motivation that went on vacation and being sick and of course having 2 little kids who both demand and require all of your attention. I did manage to clean the main floor yesterday for the first time in what seems like ages. I was so happy to have some order back on this floor. It doesn't help that I have boxes of baby clothes waiting to be taken to Once Upon A Child or Huckaberry Kids to be sold.
The bonus room was also cleaned up and reorganized although I am still trying to decide what to do with the end table situation. I had wanted to find a end table or night stand that had drawers to replace one of my Lack end tables so that we could store things like Ipod cords, laptop chargers, discs, remotes, the laptop used only for burning dvd's - things that I don't want Finley or Penelope to touch. It has been a struggle to find anything decent for a reasonable price on kijiji! I did find an automon (sp) at Jysk that had a lid to store under the end table but it was WAY too tall so it has to be returned. Currently, there is a wicker basket full of crap but I am still looking.......
Today Finley and I just baked some Flourless Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies (Thanks Martha) that turned out fabulously and we just finished getting dough ready for some Valentine's Day Sugar Cookies. It is currently chilling in the fridge and then we will roll it out, cut out the cookies and bake them. Icing will be done tomorrow hopefully. As soon as I finish this blog, we are off to clean Finley's room and start on her + Penelope's laundry. Both are running out of clean clothes that fit them!
For supper tonight, I am working on some Chinese meals in honor of Chinese New Year. Hopefully they will turn out! I will blog on that tomorrow!
Happy Thursday Everybody!!
Hey Becky
ReplyDeleteAt Costco, in Red Deer at least, there is an ottoman for sale for $130, and it's leather or faux leather and it stores all kinds of stuff. It's an ottoman for game systems and it looks amazing plus it can work as a coffee table too. So if that helps you could check that out.
I want to get one because I hate my coffee table and we have no room for end tables.
