Happy 4 Months Sweet Pea!

Here some milestones + firsts that Penelope accomplished in Month 4:

**Met Santa for the first time
**Made her first trip to Banff
**She has started teething which has not been very much fun.  She lets us know very loudly when her mouth is sore.
**She is still wearing 3 - 6 month clothing but has moved into 6 month pyjama

**She is able to kick herself around in circles
**She is still consistently sleeping through the night - bedtime is usually shortly after 8pm and she sleeps until around 8am, so it's a good 12 hour sleep she is getting.  She does a short nap in the morning and a longer one in the afternoon.
**She doesn't need to be put to sleep, she does it on her own w her mobile + aquarium playing by her crib.
**She witnessed the heartache of the Riders losing the Grey Cup at the ripe age of 3.5 months.  Finley at least was able to wait until just after her first birthday to go through this pain.
**She is obsessed with the TV and is always looking at the flashing lights + sound.  I've used this to our advantage by laying her on her mat and having her look left.  She also spends lots of time in her bumbo + tumzee + her jumper
**Her flat spot has gotten tonnes better so I think we will be able to avoid the band, but still have another few months before that is decided
**She just got her first Getting There and Money Master accounts + she has been added to our RESP program that we started when Finley was born.
**She goes for her 4 month vaccinations on Wednesday so I will find out then what she weighs and how long she is.  So far she has beaten Finley at each weigh in since birth
**She was recently introduced to Sophie the Giraffe.  She kinda holds it but hasn't figured out that it goes into her mouth.  Finley keeps trying to show her but it has clicked yet.
**She made her first trip to Okotoks
**She loves to smile + is coo'ing alot + has gotten a few giggles in.  It's amazing how precious that sound still is
**She love love loves her big sister who always wants to hug, kiss + cuddle her.
**She hates her face being covered up when in her car seat.  It's ok inside the stores but it can't make the short walk from the car to the store a bit loud.  She is so afraid that she just might miss something.  When we are in the mall or the other stores, she is very alert, checking everything out!
**Penelope is still very much enjoying her bath time.  Finley has been a big help with making sure we have everything we need.  Finley takes off all of her clothes + tries to jump in with her.  Another few months + they'll be bathing together!
**She was introduced to her Baby Einstein Musical Jumper last week and she LOVED it!  I was crossing my fingers that she would enjoy it because it was another tool for us to use while trying to get her head rounded again. She is slowly figuring out what the stuff does and the frog is definitely her favorite!  Finley has been a great big sister and shown Penelope the ropes when it comes to this toy - which is interesting since Finley hated it.
**She loves to watch Finley which is great because Finley loves singing + dancing for her.  The photo to your right is Penelope dancing in her chair as Finley tries to sing O Holy Night
**She is eating every 2 - 3 hours while she is awake.  She eats between 6 + 8oz at each feeding.  We switched over to the fast nipples which has been very nice.  The transition was a bit rough but she finishes her botttles in no time now!  She burps instantly which is the exact opposite of her big sister!
**She insists on her bottles being very warm.  Not hot, not warm, not cool, definitely not cold but very very warm.  Greg said that she has inherited my pickiness already.  Finley was definitely not this picky.  It's been a struggle at times when we are out to get the bottle as warm as Penelope would like it though!
**To the left is the shocking amount of clothes that Penelope has already outgrown.  And this is only a portion of them.  It's kinda sad how they grow up so fast.  Sometimes, I wish I could just push pause for like ever and just so they can be this small for even one more day!
**Penelope also enjoyed the beginning of the festive season with Christmas trees and the house being decorated
**She will have her first Christmas celebration tonight at Grandpa Don and Grandma Jen's place and will get to meet her Great Uncle Glen who is visiting from Newfoundland and her Great Grandpa Jim who is visiting from Scotland.  She is very excited to meet them as Finley has told her stories about how much she loves them and how special it is to see them since they live so very far away
**We still haven't decided if she will go by Penn or Penny but just as I called Finley my little peanut, I will call Penelope my sweet pea because that is what she is.
**I could never tell who Penelope looked like me or Greg.  Most of the time, I see Finley or her cousin Easton but in this photo, for the first time, I see myself.  **Special thanks goes out to the Callaghans in Red Deer for this amazingly fantastic adorable jacket Penelope is wearing in the photo to the left.

And just for a little comparison, to the right is Finley at 4 months.  I had forgotten how small (+ quiet + immobile) she was.  She was so cute in this photo - it doesn't really look like her at all.
