Transition

The one good thing about having 2 kids is that you learn from the mistakes you made with the first.

When Finley was 2 months, one week old I decided she should be in her own room in her crib.  So I put her to bed in her crib + she hated it.  Neither of us got any sleep.

I realized then that it was because there was too much change at once going on for her to properly adjust.  A new bed, a new room, a new routine.  So the following night, I placed her bassinet on the floor in her room and she slept fantastically.  I did this for a week.  Once this week was done, I placed her bassinet inside of her crib and did that for week.  Once that week was over she went into her crib.  After that one crazy night, her adjustment was perfect!

So I started doing the same to Penelope about 2 weeks ago.  A week with the bassinet on the floor, a week with the bassinet in the crib and tonight marked her first night in her crib and so far so good.

The only difference between Finley + Penelope is that her mobile and toys are all on the left side of the crib so that Penelope looks left and can unflatten her right side.

I am hoping Penelope continues her amazing sleep schedule and no problems arise from her sleeping in her crib!
