Is It Nap Time Yet?

Today has been the day from hell.  I am on the verge of having a breakdown a la Charlotte from SATC2 style.  If you haven't seen the movie, Charlotte is baking cupcakes and her kids are screaming + her oldest just dipped her hands in chocolate and put some handprints on the back of her skirt.  A $1000 Valentina skirt to be exact.  So she leaves her kids in the kitchen, locks herself in her pantry and cries.  The only difference is that I am not wearing a Valentino skirt, I am still wearing my pajamas (yes I know what time it is, thanks).  Oh and I can't get into my pantry because Finley has turned it into a MESS. Or baking cupcakes.

OK basically, I am just having a near breakdown.  For the third time this week, I cleaned Finley's room.  While I was cleaning said room, Finley somehow got a hold of a pink permanent marker and colored on my stairs.  Apparently you can get it out by using aersol pump hairspray.  Two problems here: I don't have any + would have to get dressed, bundle up my 2 misbehaving children + go to Walmart to purchase some and two, even if did have some or do go buy some, when would I have time to possibly even try to clean it?

After I finish cleaning her room + putting Penelope's laundry away, I have a screaming 2 month old that refuses to be happy today, I come downstairs to find even more disasters.  Dog food is covering almost every square surface of my floor.  All of the my halloween decorations that were neatly packed in their boxes to return to the storage room are now empties and strewn across the floor.  All of her toys are now everywhere, my mac has some new crazy settings, the recycling has been emptied all over our floor and as I was sweeping up the dog food, Finley thought it would be funny to kick around all the swept up food.

And Penelope is still crying.  As I tended to Penelope, I realized that Finley was no longer at the kitchen table.  Also missing was her bowl of soup that was full of both soup + crackers. Thankfully, it was sitting with contents still in tact on my couch.

And it is only 1:05pm

I have towels in the dryer waiting to be folded and put away, I have formula to make, dishes to unload + reload, I have a main floor that needs to be cleaned, stairs that need to be vacuumed + now washed with hair spray and most likely will not get it done.

Thankfully Greg will be home in about 5 hours and that today is his Friday which means I will hopefully get that much needed break after a very LONG week.

But first on my agenda: Cleaning out my pantry ;)

PS I will post photos of my newly decorated carpet tomorrow if i get a chance!

  1. Oh dear. That is a really tough day. I hope it got better later. Just remember to breathe. Sometimes, that's all we can do. Gail
