In my previous post, I spoke of how Finley got a hold of sharpie and decided to color on our stairs. Well, I was reading her "Olivia" which she got for her birthday from her Uncle Neil. In this book, Olivia talks about loving to go to museums with her mom. They go to the MOMA in NYC and of course, they have a Jackson Pollock exhibit. Olivia is not impressed and says: "I could do that in about 5 minutes" to her mother. We turn the page to see: "As soon as she gets home she gives it a try". Maybe Finley does listen to me after all:
Above is Finley's demonstration of action art and below is a sample of Jackson Pollock's work. There are definite similarities!
This is the exact one that we have hanging in our family room above the fire place. It is very prominently displayed as it is our favorite piece. It's title is Convergence. We purchased it right after returning from New York. We lucked out that the Guggenheim had just opened a massive Pollock Gallery plus the MOMA + Met had a few as well!
I keep telling myself that Finley knew of my love for Jackson Pollock + the color pink so she was simply trying to make me happy! Whatever gets me through the day right?
Oh, and that room I was cleaning when she was making her masterpiece? I cleaned it spotless, put her down for a "nap" and this is what I saw when I went to get her:
And then I ask myself why do I bother?
My day did get better as I got to see The Backstreet Boys perform I want it that way on Oprah + Finley was pretty well behaved for the rest of the day. On Friday, we all went shopping and got to visit the new Lowes and had a great day!
