30 Day Challenge: Day 8

Challenge 8:  Are a fitness guru or a couch potato?  Talk about your exercise habits

Before I got pregnant with Finley, I was in literally the best shape of my life.  I had completed 2 hard sessions of Bikini Boot Camp and was going to the gym every morning at 530am before work.  But then I got pregnant and I lost all real motivation to exercise.  I was so sick during that pregnancy that basically all I did for exercise was get off my train 2 stops early and walk to my building and then walk to TD Square on my lunch break and walk around for an hour.  That was it.  Nothing else.

After I had Finley, I lost all my baby weight immediately, I never had to do any diet or exercise.  I lucked out.  Big time. I never really exercised after Finley was boring but I didn't have to.  Looking after Finley was all I ever needed.  Once she started moving, I started moving.  It never stopped and it still hasn't.  Soon I was back at work full time, pregnant + still running after Finley.  Once pregnant with Penelope, I again just walked before and after work with Iggy and/or Finley, but nothing substantial.

Again, I was lucky enough to lose all my baby weight within 10 days of having Penelope but I did notice that despite the fact I now weighed less then I did before getting pregnant, my stomach were still flabby.  I still do a lot of exercising with Finley + Penelope.  We do lots of walking, running, and all kinds of fun active activities but that doesn't really help my flabby belly.  I needed to do sit ups.  Lots of them.  LOTS.

Enter Basement Bootcamp.

Basement Bootcamp is something Greg and I started about 10 days ago.  Basically around 830 every night when both F + P have gone to bed, we head down to our basement to do bootcamp.  It consists of cardio, circuit training, core strengthening, ab work, yoga and I think that is it.  I am on hold at the library for Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred.  We also use our Wii Fit + Wii Fit Plus.  I really haven't noticed a difference but am hoping soon that I will!

  1. That's an awesome idea Becky. Maybe I will get Ade involved in a basement bootcamp with me. We could definitely use or Wii Active (which I think is more effective then Wii fit) And keep going I am a little jealous of your metabolism though, lucky losing all the baby weight.... oh well I am sure mine will go soon enough!!!
